Afridi apologises to nation on social media
KARACHI – In a video uploaded on social media, Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi apologized over the poor performance in ICC World Twenty20.
“I am very sorry for not meeting the team’s performance up to par with the nation’s expectations. I offer my apology over the miserable performance in the T20 World Cup.” Afridi stated. He said that he had been playing for Pakistan for the past 20 years and went down to play in the field with emotions that mirrored those of the entire nation.
“It was a team of not just eleven players instead the entire nation,” The skipper said. He further said that he was only addressing the Pakistan team’s fans, adding that he was not concerned what anybody was thinking of him. He also stated that he was disappointed that he was disappointed over the team’s dismissal from the World T-20 tournament.
